How to stay motivated.

Im in highschool right now, so i dont have all the time to excersize.
I found that playing ddr ((dance dance revolution for play station)) was fun, but I've gotten bored of it.

I find that whenever I do excersize in general, I get bored.
I like to do it with someone, but no one will do it with me. How can I stay motivated to do excersizes?
I really wish that I loved running, I want to run, but I find doing it myself boring. I dont have music to listen to, so that doesnt help when people suggest that I should do it. I dont have a treadmill either.

All I do currently is 400 crunches probably 4-5 days a week, but I need more.

You're right, you do need more - definitely cardio right now.

Sometimes, we just need to do what we've got to do - if doing DDR is better then jogging/walking without a partner, then go with that until your situation improves.

Do you have a job outside of school?

sometimes we need to mix it up. I have trouble doing exercise too. Though team sports aren't for everybody, they're a great way to mix it up and have fun. Maybe join an intramural team at your school... tennis, softball, volleyball. They don't have the stress of varsity teams and are generally more fun and laid back. If you don't have intramural teams at your school, consider joining your town/city teams or leagues.

Then there's the standard, good 'ole gym (think 24hr fitness type). there's always lots of people around and you tend to feed off the energy and meet gym regulars to work out with. They sometimes have running/basketball/swimming teams at bigger gyms that you could join as well. Then there's places like curves, which can be quick and fun.

And a whole host of other fitness ideas you might consider...
- yoga
- pilates
- belly dancing
- general dance lessons
- circus school ()
- kickboxing
- rock climbing
- strip tease workout
- kayaking
- roller blading
- ultimate frisbee
- bicycling
- hiking
- etc, etc, etc, etc,

You get it now. There are many things you can do to keep from getting bored. When you're tired of one, switch to the other. It's ok, you need to keep tricking your body to get to the most fit anyway. Good luck and have fun!
