How to make picture "timeline"

Hey guys, I searched and couldn't find what I was looking for. How do you make those time lines where they have a few pictures in a row, like in the before and afters? Thanks!

a lot of the photo editing programs like photoshop will do it - or do some googling for some freeware applications... it's nothing in the forum that does it...
