How to lose the first five?

I am having a bit of trouble getting going on this journey and I was wondering if anyone has any tips for losing the first five?

Well you've got to start somewhere..
What have you tried so far?
In my experience the fist few are the easiest.
I suggest reading up on bmr and calculating how much calories you need for your gender, height, age and activity level.
Also doing exercise is a good idea, especially cardio and weightlifting.

Any quality sites where I can find my BMR?

My suggestion is to start slowly and with manageable changes that you can keep doing forever. Some of the things that I started with are drinking more water and then eliminating pop from my diet completely (just as an example - but it could be anything!) Also I find that behavioral goals work better than weight loss goals. I can say 'I will loose 5 lbs in 6 weeks' - but I can't really have complete control over that, so I fail and then get frustrated. Instead (now) I say - I will exercise 3 times this week for 30 minutes each time. That I have total control over - and if I do that consistently, I create a habit, a new life and a new me. The weight loss is a byproduct that I get from changing my lifestyle. I really struggled with learning this and it is still hard sometimes - but I find it way more successful and motivating!

i think diet is important for those first five. switch from sugar to truvia, eat on smaller plates, make sure if you're eating pasta that you fit it into a cup measure before serving. eliminating soda is a good idea... and eat leafy salad before eating your dinner/lunch to fill you up before you eat...

Nevermind I lost the first five :patriot:
