This is my second thread and I am doing this because most people here want to know how to lose weight. In my previous thread entitled "
Information about wieght control that no one seems to know" I explained how to not gain weight. If you have not read it then read it now because it contains important background info.
In order to lose weight the way that I did when i lost 30 lbs at age 40, you will need to follow the same plan as the weight maintenance plan except you will have to use a very low carb/starch diet as oposed to eating what ever you want.
The basic idea is to prevent insulin spikes altogether (or as much as possible) and in the process increase your fat Burn Time significantly. In order for it to work you will have to strictly remove carbs and starches from your diet. If you are a vegetarian it will be even more difficult because many vegetables contain starch and can not be consumed without raising your insulin levels in your blood stream.
Insulin level is the key to this method because it is the endocrine system element that most triggers fat storage vs fat elimination in your body. As I said in my previous thread, insulin is injected into your blood stream via your pancreas to lower the sugar level in your blood when your body thinks the sugar level is too high. The insulin regulates the sugar level but it also triggers you body to store fat because your body interprets the high insulin level as a signal that you already have plenty of energy (sugar/glucose) in your blood stream available for the cells to use. When the insulin level drops due to low blood sugar levels in your blood then your body interprets that to mean you need more energy in your blood and starts to burn body fat. It is this fat burn mode that you must maintain if you want to lose weight.
So how does this sugar get into your blood? By eating carbs and starches. It takes very little to increase your blood sugar so you have to be very vigilant about not consuming them. This means:
No bread
No rice
No potatoes (except sweet potatoes)
No pasta
No carrots
No beer ( or any other alcoholic beverage that has carbs)
No ice cream
No deserts at all
No candy
No cookies
No chips
etc, etc, etc
You can search the net for a chart that list the various foods and their Carb level usually stated as High Carb, Medium Carb and Low Carb. Do not eat anything except low carb. If you do consume even the slightest bit of carbs or starch it is going to cost you at least two hours of fat Burn Time for that instance while your insulin get your blood sugar back down again. Remember this if you breakdown and want to get back on track.
Most people worry about consuming too much fat and cholesterol on this diet but it is more complicated than an gram consumed is a gram used. Your body is smart enough to expel the things it thinks it does not need. The trick is to get your insulin level under control so your body stops thinking it needs all that fat and cholesterol. Once your insulin level is under control it tends to balance your entire endocrine system since the insulin level is at the root of most the other imbalances.
This diet is very difficult to keep up but the good news is that it takes most people around six weeks to achieve their desired result. After that you can go back to a maintenance diet and eat what ever you want and still maintain your wait loss as long as you never eat snacks between meals and space your meals at least 6 hours apart.
This is how i did it and many other people have done this diet successfully as well. It was developed by doctors. The first book I read on this diet was written by a heart surgeon. The only thing they omitted was how to successfully maintain your weight once you get off this diet but I covered that in my previous thread and it work very well for me. I will wait for you guys to tell me how it works for you. Good Luck!
