Hi everyone,
My name is Tanya and I just joined. I have no idea where to start on my weight loss journey and was hoping for some feedback from the more experienced. So, I got sick a few weeks ago (all better now) and it made me completely lose my appetite. For this reason, I went from my normal weight of about 134 to 122 (what I weigh right now) in a little under 3 weeks. Now, I look a bit thinner and am liking the loss of those pounds, so I want to lose just a few more to be where I want to be and then keep it that way. My goal right now is 118 lbs (just a number I'd like to be at), so that's 4 pounds away. I work at an office so I am sitting most of the day but when I get home I barely sit 'till bedtime doing housework and last week I started walking on a treadmill for half an hour each day. I also read about calorie deficits and what not, and it made me want to stick to a daily allowance to shed these 4 lbs I want to lose. I've been eating about 1,000 calories per day. Now, I just logged my info in online and they are suggesting I eat about 1,300 calories a day to lose 1 lb per week. How should I go about increasing my intake by 300 calories? If I just start tomorrow would it be a "shock to the system" and cause me to gain? Should I gradually increase these calories? If so, how should I go about doing so?
I am actually pretty excited and motivated and can't wait to see 118 on the scale!
Thanks, Tanya.
