How To Get Back To Running

Here is some personal information that you might need to know before you answer my question. I'm 13 years old, I'm a guy, I weigh about 96 pnds, am 5,3 and I HAVEN'T hit my growth spurt ( or don't think I have).

Now, my question.

I'm trying to get back to running after an injury to my knee. It was not serious, but kept me from running for a little over two weeks. I try to run a couple of miles and I have to stop at two, which means I'm probablly not getting a good workout.

I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how to get back.

Thanks
Thomas

What kind of injury to your knee? When I hurt mine, it hurt to go on walks. I'd say start out by walking and add running but not if it hurts! Some injuries can take a long time to heal. A sprain can take 6 weeks to get better (or more.)

You won't be helping yourself if you end up hurting your knee more by running too much. Take it slow and you'll get back into it! It actually sounds like you're making good progress. When you have to stop at 2 miles, is it because your knee hurts too much, or are you winded?

I cut my knee open pretty deep. It required stiches and staples.

To answer your other question, I'm winded.

Thanks For replying

Oh, if you're winded, you can run your 2 miles, walk a bit and run again, until you can get back to running however much it was you ran before!

Thanks for all your help.
