Sport How often should you vary your diet?

Sport Fitness
Hey guys,

I've been on the same diet for about a month now. More or less the same types of foods at the same frequency of eating.

My question is does your body get used to this and therefore, decreasing the overall benefits? And if so, how often should you change your diet to get the best results?

Thanks a lot,
acg

You'll want to change your diet when your progress slows or comes to a hault. You'll want to also allow yourself a cheat meal every 1-2 weeks in order to throw your body off balance and keep it guessing. This will also prevent the possibility of your thyroid become slightly dormant.

cheat meals also help keep you sane and allow you some indulgence from time to time.

There's nothing wrong with having dessert...there is something wrong with having dessert every day at lunch and dinner ;)

But generally speaking, you do want to keep diet pretty consistent, since diet is really what allows for building muscle or shedding fat.

Cheat meals are not a bad thing, if you watch your portions. Heres an interesting article by berardi

Hope this helps :)
