How much weight should I put on this bar?

So I just realized the bar I've been using for my bench press may or may not be designed for that.
It's about a barbebell bar, 5 feet long, 1 inch in diameter, and made out of a ferrous metal, possibly cast iron. (It's black in color.)
About how much weight do you think I could safely put on a bar like this?
(I've been keeping the weight relatively low.)

Also a second question for anyone, what would you estimate a bar like this to weigh? (I don't have a way to measure it.)

Just a guess but I'd say it's probably about 15kgs as a 7ft bar is 20kgs.

I doubt there would be an issue with the weight you could put on it as it sounds like a regular bar but a bit shorter. If it starts bending a lot then maybe I'm wrong ;)

Are you sure a bar like that could weigh 15kg?
I've alaways counted it as 10 pounds (4.5 kg) when I calculate my bench weight, though that was just a random geusse.
If it really weighs 15kg I'd be thrilled, I should find a way to measure it.

Depends on if it uses standard or olympic weight. If Oly weights then it could be heavy. Most 7 ft are 20kg. I have a 5 ft that's closer to 8 kg (17lbs). But the standard bars are going to weigh less and if you've got a 1" bar all the way down to the ends, that's probably what you're using. Cap Barbell has one with a shipping weight of 15 lbs (so probably weighs closer to 12) and capacity of 700. See this as an example:

Yeah, that is similar to what I have, though mine is older, and black in color, and is totally uniform.
If that can support 700 pounds then I suppose I could at least put a couple hundred on mine, which I all I will likely need.
