Alright,
I usually followed the eight glasses of eight ounces a day, but then I googled it and it said I should be drinking like 120 ounces or something like that, so I've been aiming for at least 12 glasses, today I'm at 16. I know you can drink too much water, and seeing as how I'm a huge hypochondriac I am afraid of drinking too much water.

So... what is your guy's opinion on how much water someone of my weight needs?

Hi,,,
Most of the body fluid is in the form of Water.Although water is essential for every human being but its varies from individual to individual. There are plenty of studies underway on this but currently I can just guide you about the factors important for checking the amount required by each human.
your health state
how active you are
where you live.

There is not a set amount that's appropriate for everyone. I generally tell my clients that a good metric is the frequency and appearance of your urine. If you're urinating frequently (say 5 or so times per day) and it's relatively clear with no odor (not to be gross) you're probably aok.

Granted, there are certain illnesses and medications that make this metric useless. But if you're healthy and not taking in medicine that can interact with urine color... I'd say this is a good metric.

Oooh. I drink water all day now. Sometimes I put a crystal light mix in, but I've given up diet soda and that used to be what I drank all day. Since replacing it with water I pee all the time now! It usually comes out to about 14 8 oz glasses right now, which seems a good fit. For awhile I was getting up at all hours of the night to pee, it was annoying, and now it's evened out. =)

Thanks for the tip, I try to use that for my indicator these days while still aiming for 12 glasses.

Just drink water throughout the day. Thats the best thing you can do.

There is no set amount of water you need. Just drink a full glass with each meal. Then drink some throughout the rest of the day like during exercise.

Its good to see that you found your own balance. You shouldn't have to get up in the middle of the night on a regular basis and certainly not more than once. If you are doing that, you are drinking more than necessary.

If your pee is dark yellow you are dehydrated. If its pale yellow you are fine. If you are peeing too much, cut back. Don't force yourself.

If water is all you drink most of the time, i think its not that hard to drink the right amount. Go with what feels right.
