Sport how much protein at one time?

ok so after my workout tonight i had my whey powder in nofat milk (29 g protein) and then like 30 mins later i had dinner (2 boneless skinless chicken breast strips and 7-8 spinach mozzarella raviolis). my question is this: i know that theres a certain amount of protein that you can digest at one time, so what happens to the rest? because im sure i had more than 30 or 40g in that 30 min time frame.

Food can lie in your digestive system for quite a bit of time, don't worry about the whole absorption per hour thing or whatever it is.
