Sport How much fruit is too much?

Sport Fitness
I was just wondering peoples opinions on what amount of fruit per day is considered healthy for somebody looking to burn fat.
I personally eat atleast 2 salads a day during the week, containing either a Tin of tuna or chicken amongst the large amount of greens lol.

But how much fruit is too much? After all there is all the fructose in them? I usually limit myself to one bannana and one apple a day maximum. But then some people don't consider these very good fruits for some reason. Are they high in fructose content?

some fruits are better than others...bananas rank low because they are sooo carb dense. they aren't 'bad' but you don't want them often if you're trying to shed fat.

on a bulk, fruits are great...on a cut, fruits can be a little too sugary so they need to be in moderation.

Look at the glycemic index of fruits to determine their relative "goodness". Bananas, apples, raisins, etc. rate relatively high and grapefruit, strawberries, etc. are relatively low. But if you eat a higher glycemic index fruit with some other lower glycemic index food items you tend to dilute the higher glycemic index foods.

I don't think you could ever eat too many salads (green leafy vegetables), so definately focus on those combined with lean protien sources if you are cutting. But given the option of some processed foods or starchy carbs, I would always choose the fruit.

Well I believe if you want to lose weight you want to watch your sugar or fat intake. You need some sugar though so I say use fruit as your main sugar intake for the day. Don't take extra sugar from other sources. Like for example candy, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages.

As for answering the question the food pyramid says at least 2-3 servings a day.

see, on a cutting phase, I'd mostly drop fruit on cardio days, and only 1 piece on weight training days, because you do need to limit carbs to get leaned out...not fat.
and in order to keep energy up when carb cutting, you can carb cycle.
fruit isn't great for restoring glycogen, but simpler sugars like dextrose work better, and should be timed immediately post workout.

Well I disagree. Sugar and Fat will make it hard to lose weight but I wouldn't go as far as not eating fruit because there are some needed vitamins that you get from that. You need to limit both. Complex carbs, fiber, and protein is what you want more of.
