Sport how much does cheating hurt you?

Sport Fitness
Let's say you eat a cheat meal once every three days while cutting (pizza, boxed foods like macaroni and cheese/pasta roni, hot dogs, hamburgers)? Everyday? Once per week? How much is that going to hurt you, how will it hurt you, and why does it?

Well, to put it simple, say you're dropping about 500 calories below maintenance. That's about 3500 a week. Well, on two of those days, you eat pizza, and you end up 500 above maintenance, which is probably being kind. From just a caloric standpoint, you've negated the two days you cheated on and two others to make up for the increase. That's a simplification, but you get the point. It will increase the length of time you spend cutting as well as the probability of muscle loss.

oh, I forgot to add, let's assume that on those cheat days we still maintain a calorie defecit. (which is usually true when I have a cheat meal)

If your still going to have a calorie defecit on the days when you have a cheat meal then its not really a "cheat meal", its a "very non-productive day".

You'll have to starve yourself to allow yourself to the crap food, meaning you'll be even more hungry and eat even more.

If you have to have to "cheat" have a slice of pizza as part of a ballenced meal.

As DEF said, the more you cheat the longer it will take and the harder it will get. Also the longer it takes the more likely you are to loose intrest and go back to "old ways".

So the only bad thing that will happen is that it'll take longer? What else? There's gotta be some more bad things that will happen...

I'm not going to list ever single bad thing to do with fast food. Ive got to be back at work in 10hours!

One of the worst things about having a cheat meal is not the crap that your putting in, its the good stuff your missing out on. If you have a cheat meal then you will not be in great condition the next day. You will have consumed way too much saturated fat and fast burning carbs, and not enough good quality protien, not to mention fruit and vegg.

As I said, try having a slice of pizza as part of your meal, rather than just eatting a whole pizza.

Try a slice of pizza with a chicken salad. Or if your gonna have a burger, pass on the cheese and have it with vegg and a potato rather than fries. Making food yourself will make it so much better for you and you can put all that extra cash towards your gym membership.
Workout how much you spend every year on fast food, pat your belly, then tell me if its worth it.

thanks for the reply. Just for the record I cut fast food completely out of my diet over a year ago. By burgers I meant stuff that I make at home (yeah it might not be that much better I know), but I hardly ever eat burgers at all either. By cheat meals I meant like what happened today, I knew my parents were going to be in town and knew they'd want to eat at the olive garden because they don't have one where they live. So I went to the olive garden with them. Plus I have a lot of boxed food at my house that I occasionally have, things like mac and cheese and pasta roni, that's what I meant by cheat meals. Yeah I guess I did mention pizza too, but yeah.
