How much does an elliptical machine weigh?

I have read a bit of the thread posted in April 2007 by leecm about putting an elliptical machine on a second floor over the garage in the bonus room of his spiffy house and I now have a question that I am hoping somebody may know the answer to (er, um I meant 'to which somebody may know the answer'!). How much does an elliptical machine weigh? My husband and I just purchased a Reebok 1000 ZX Elliptical and are thinking of putting it in a spare bedroom on the second floor of our 1950 cape style home. From what folks said to leecm, it seems as though we should be fine but I am just curious now because I did an Internet search for how much an elliptical machine weighs and I got nuthin'. I know, I can just wait until it arrives and then look at the box but it may be a week or more and if I find out that it weighs a bazillion pounds before it arrives, we'll come up with a Plan B location for it. :^) Thanks all! From what I can tell, it's going to weigh in at least a couple of hundred pounds, so it's going to be tricky getting it upstairs. I'd try and get some help if you decide to do it. Good luck though!

Thanks Sportsmith1 and carinna! A couple hundred pounds seems right. We are having it delivered from the store so it will arrive unassembled. I guess we'll carry it piece by piece (by piece!) upstairs and we'll be careful. Thanks! MartyMac
