Sport How much Cottage Cheese

Sport Fitness
I'm trying to lose weight, how much cottage cheese (and pineapple) would you recommend?

I'm just starting my 5/6 meal per day diet. So far, 2 organic whole wheat waffles, 4oz chicken, 1/4 cup rice, more 4oz of chicken, more 1/4 cup of rice. Next meal will be at home, want to stick to the cottage cheese (and maybe some natty PB, since it's post workout), then some baked salmon with steamed green beans and 1/2 cup yummy rice.
BTW, all the rice I eat is wild, long grain, brown, and organic.

track your caloric intake.
consume the proper amount of cottage cheese and pineapple to meet your dietary needs and weight loss goals.

I wouldn't eat PB post workout. you don't want to slow digestion of protein and simple carbs.

find the fat, protien, carb and calorie content per 100g.

Then add up what the rest of your food adds up to.

Choose how much weight you want to loose.

Choose a date you wanna get to your weight

Workout how many more calories you can eat per day to slim down to your target weight within you target time, then see how much cottage cheese you can eat by the nutriational information.

Its a stupid queston cos you havnt given any relivant information.

I can rephrase my stupid question with relevant information, and you'll still be a jerk that can't spell.

Malkore, thanks for the input on the PB. I guess it will be more chicken for me...

As far as relevant info goes, I want to get to 180, then reevaluate. My deadline is June 1, but if I can get there by May 1 (or sooner), I'll do it. When you are dealing with 30 pounds of weight loss, it's hard for me to set a realistic timeline. I've already mentioned what I'm eating; there isn't much deviation from that on a daily basis right now, I feel like what I'm doing nutritionally will work, and I don't want to expand the menu to much until I've developed a solid habit.

More relevant info:
I have 2 dogs.
I want a tattoo.
I used to be vegan.
Doritos and coke will make you fat.
I have a PDA phone.
My favorite color is black. My second favorite is blue.
If I was could be a character from Street Fighter 2, I'd be Chun Li.
If I could have a super-power it would be invisibility.
I have to do laundry when I get home.

Your being a prick, and its not gonna help you loose weight.
How about some real information like how much exercise you do.

If you could read your question from my point of view... Its like saying...

"I want to be a painter, how much paint do i need?"

"I want to write a book, how many words do I need"

Now now children.. =P

Anyways. Black is a shade, not a colour.

Chun-LI sucks. Ryu and Ken pwn all.
My dog can kick both your dogs asses.
If I could have a super power, it would be...uh...something...very...SCARY!! XD

I don't get the "favorite" thing, but whatever.

My original thought was, how much cottage cheese is appropriate for 1 serving. For example, a lot of people have suggested chicken, but portion size is also important. Eight ounces of chicken seems to be too much at one time, but 2 4 oz portions during the day is not. Calculating the calories in a serving size doesn't really give you the full picture. So, I guess I'm back to my original question: How much cottage cheese in one serving when eating 5/6 meals per day and trying to cut fat?

And, per the wiki:
"Black is the lack of all colors of light, or an exhaustive combination of multiple colors of pigment." I'm pretty sure that means that it isn't a color, nor a shade, but instead a really bad bruise.

Favourite - not favorite

Unfortunately I couldn’t read your thoughts at that time. I could only read what you wrote.

you question still doesnt have a natural answer. I could say a tub, or a spoon, without knowing the nutritional value and the exact amount of calories your getting the rest of the day, AND, the amount of exercise your doing, there is no way I can give you a measurement.

If you really wanna know then work it out.

Loosely speaking, 1/2 to 1 cup of cottage cheese is generally a serving for most guys. I always use a 1/2 cup, mix in some fat free, no sugar added yogurt, and some fiber one.
Cottage cheese is kinda gross to me, but with yogurt, it just tastes like a big bowl of yogurt.

You basically want 1g of protein per pound of body weight if you're trying to bulk up. 1g per pound of lean mass if you're trying to lean out. Then divide the total grams you need by however many meals you can eat a day, and try to balance it out evenly.

so yes, 2 servings of 4oz of chicken breast is right. 8oz all at once, a lot of that won't be able to be used immediately, so it'll get stored as fat more readily than if you had the smaller serving.

The whole idea is you constantly fuel the body with food. It keeps the fire burning hot (metabolism) and prevents big changes in blood sugar. Low blood sugar often follows about 60-90mins after a big ass meal. That's why many people feel tired all afternoon - lunch was too big.

A few thousand years ago, humans were hunter/gatherers, and we grazed all day long on whatever we found to eat. 3 square meals is a product of society that we haven't evolved to handle perfectly yet.

since you wanna lose fat, figure you can lose about 1.5lbs per week. So estimate 20weeks to lose the 30lbs you seek to shed (no, I'm not good at math, just estimating here). Roughly 5 months...might be hard to do by June 1, but I guarantee by June 1 if you've been dropping 1-1.5lbs of fat a week, and lifting weights, you will look noticably better even if you've only lost 20lbs by that time.

I would also try to avoid processed foods as much as possible. Like, ditching the multigrain waffles, except as a 'treat'. Stick to lean meats, steamed brown rice, occasionally some whole wheat pasta. old fashioned oatmeal is good.

But avoid crap like pizza, mac n' cheese, box meals, fast food, frozen dinners, etc. Lots of trans fats, sodium, high fructose corn syrup, and the processing just ruins the bio-availability of so many nutrients, its not funny.
