how long should i rest?

hello i need help with how old i should rest. i am 16 years old when i doing weights how long should i rest short time or long? i want to have a nice form but i dont really care about getting stronger. also is it better to do low weights but more reps or do high weights and less reps like max do about 30 pounds but 20 reps or put alots of weights and do 10 reps. do high weights make ur more buff or low weights?

It really depends on what your doing, and what threshold you have, everyone has different thresholds and levels of indurance.

Genrally after an intense workout, 1 day to 2 days of rest, but if your doing milder stuff where you do not feel any real intensity that may be lower.

Its really more trial and error but the general rule of thumb is at least one rest day a week with some people chosing to do every other day.
 
you should rest from 1 min to 1and 1/2 min if you're toning.

Please explain how you tone a muscle. Tone is nothing more than a combination of muscle gain and fat loss as it refers to appearance, not an actual change in the muscle fibres. Therefore you cannot train for it.
 
If you don't care about getting stronger then who gives a **** what you do?

I'm inclined to agree...if you don't care about getting stronger just maintain low bodyfat, hit the sunbed and oil yourself up...and perhaps wear some fetching swimming trunks.
 
Focus on how your body feels too. If you can't consistently increase your weights and your training hard, odds are you need more rest.
