Weight-Loss How is my daily diet?

I would like to know if there are any ways to improve my daily food choices to keep me looking thin. Recently I've gained a little weight, but I've cut out a few things since then (sugary fat-free caramel sauces, fattening nuts...) I'll recap today's choices and if anyone would like to take a look and tell me how I can improve, that'd be great.

Anyway, I eat 6 times a day and breakfast is my largest meal. I drink a glass and a half of water with 3 meals, a glass with the other 3. I also drink one calorie-free, carbonated energy drink each day to rev my metabolism.

Breakfast:

Yogurt (60 calories, 0 fat)

Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal (I pour a truckload... cereal is my one weakness. I estimate 400+ calories and 3-4 fat) with 1/2 cup skim milk (40 calories, 0 fat)

Lunch:

Grilled Cheese & Chicken Sandwich:
-2 slices of wheat bread (70 calories, 0.5 fat total)
-2 slices of lowfat cheese (100 calories, 5 fat total)
-2 slices of deli-sliced chicken breast (I'm unsure of the calories and fat in this amount. There are supposedly 6 servings in the bag, and each serving is 70 calories and 2.5 fat, though there are way more than 12 slices in the bag.)

Banana (unsure)

Snack:

Small package of dried fruit (90 calories, 0 fat)

Slice of wheat bread (35 calories, 0.25 fat)

Larger snack:

Total Raisin Bran cereal (3/4 of a serving, about 150 calories and <1 fat) with 1/3 cup skim milk (30 calories, 0 fat)

Corn on the cob, half (70 calories, 1 fat)

Broccoli (a small amount, taken from my parents' Chinese takeout. Unsure of the calories; it had a bit of sweet & sour sauce on it.)

Snack:

Popsicle (50 calories, 0 fat)

Dinner:

Kashi frozen meal (240 calories, 5 fat)

Spoonful of low sugar grape jelly (about 25 calories, 0 fat)

I'm thinking I need to indulge a little less in the cereal, but I'd rather cut out some of the other stuff before doing that.

Any suggestions?

Oh, and I'm 16 and female.

I like having cereal for breakfast too because it's quick, so I go for Kashi GoLean cereal, which has a good amount of protein, with 1/2 C. skim milk. The problem with a lot of cereals is the amount of sugar. Dried fruit also can have added sugar, just check labels. The most important thing is having a balanced diet.
Also, I try not to eat frozen dinners very often. If you have time it's much better to cook up a healthy veggie stirfry with chicken or a feta cheese and basil omelette (mmm!).

Good luck.

Well I don't actually have much fresh food in my house; I've been eating frozen dinners for a year. You also never know how many calories are in fresh food if it's not packaged as a single serving. Even if you do, the combination of all the calories turns out to be overwhelming.

Why is it that processed foods are bad for you? I always knew they weren't the best thing around, but I never knew why.

Sorry to be so harsh about this, but:
- you're a minor
- you're currently under doctor's orders to eat 1,500 calories a day, following what you've described as 6 months of a 700-calorie-per-day "starvation diet"
- the typical day's food you've outlined adds up to about 1,400 calories

If you have concerns about your diet or your weight, I suggest you consult your doctor, your parents, or both. No good is going to come of having strangers on the internet suggest to you how you can "cut out some stuff."

To be honest I'm probably eating more than I know. I do take little bits and pieces of things throughout the day, which probably add up. I just didn't include them because I can't really remember them, and it's not the same every day.

And when I say "cut out some stuff", I mean replacing them with healthier alternatives.

get a measuring cup and a digital scale and make sure you are eating what you think you're eating.

a truckload of cereal could be anything... unless you're being accurate you do not know...

Actually I do use a measuring cup just to get an idea; but afterwards I just pile it up over the measuring cup so it overflows and then some, haha.

The one thing that irks me about measuring cups, though, is that you can never be sure about what you're getting. Different pieces in the cereal weigh more than others and there is no guarantee that you're getting the recommended serving. I don't really always believe the accuracy of the nutrition labels because of how sly these food companies tend to be.

I don't have sound on my computer, but I was browsing through youtube and saw this video (without sound, so I'm unsure as to exactly what she's saying so maybe I'm without a good understanding):

It sort of makes me cringe to think of how often I've probably been deceived by labels.

if you're not measuring properly you're not measuring... overflowing a measuring cup is not one serving.. nor would be crushing them to get more to fitin a cup :D

get a digital scale then... and go with gram measurements...

the nutrition labels are fairly accurate, more so for weight than by volume - so just use a scale...

I think your nutritional regimen is too low in fats actually. Fat calories by themselves are not the enemy, but eating too many/few of them is. You may want to read up on the beneficial roles that fat plays in our bodies. Some of the healthier fats come from: nuts (almonds), avocado, edamame (baby soy beans), etc.

excellent but expensive...

Hey i went through the diet plan and its expensive i think so.... anyways its excellent.. i think u had consulted a fitness doctor for this..i think the only one i think scrap is cheese and it supplies unwanted fat to your body...
