Sport How good is honey?

Sport Fitness
I've read a lot about pure honey being really good to eat because it contains no fats, calories or anything. Just things like dextrose and fructose. After buying some today I'm definately hooked on it, so I was just wondering is it ok to have it regularly like for snacking with, and adding to other foods?

If there's no harm caused by it, then are there any benefits?

Also, I'm going to start adding it to my oatmeal in the morning, so do I add it before or after microwaving? (That probably is a dumb question).

Ok, don't quote me but I 've heard that honey increases the trigylceride levels.

After.
It might have no fat, but it does contain calories...... 339 per 100g and 84.7g of carbs per 100g so make sure you count these. :)
1 tablespoon is 51 cals & less than 0.1g fat

Honey is way beeter for you than regular suger, but its not so sweet without reason. I use it, but use it sparringly. I usually put some honey on grilled chicken with a little pepper to give it a nice flavor and kick.

so not bad, just dont go overboard.

I use honey instead of sugar for a lot of things. It goes in my morning cup of green tea and it goes in my brown rice oatmeal too. I'll have to try that chicken thing... well it'll go on my fake chicken patties since I don't eat meat :)

The post above nailed it... it's good, but don't go overboard. If you can get local honey... it helps fight against local allergies.
