How good in GNC?

since I have started to work on my health, I have decided it would be good to get some additional supplements such as a multi-vitamin, calcium, fish oil and maybe some others.

However, I know nothing about any of this stuff.

So is GNC a good source for supplements?

Are there any i should be focusing on for a cardio weight loss goal?

GNC is usually over priced. Their sales staff is also usually clueless on supplements and tries to get you to buy useless products.

I had a friend that went to GNC and the guy tried to seel him DNA creatine.

I know what DNA is yes but wtf is that supposed to do with creatine? First time i went to a supp store and asked for creatine i got sold naNO vapor from muscle tech. I got home and realized is was nothing to do with creatine

- they only sell what they make.

- for anything atlarge doesn't make

remember, most supplements are bunk, and the ones that do work are NO MIRACLE IN A BOTTLE.

GNC is like any other business. They try to convince you that you need something when you don't. Basically, you fell into the "health" grave of "I need X,Y, and Z in order to be healthy" when in reality all you need is a balanced system of food intake. We live in a world where we can literally eat 100s of different food and that is supplement enough to your diet unless you have a medical condition where you body cannot absorb the needed material through food, water, sun light, and various other outside factors.

Dood. U cant get hyooge without muscletech. have you seen that ronnie coleman? he uses muscletech and look how big he is

I went to a GNC store here once. My experience proved to me that GNC is, in fact, staffed by cretins (not creatines)! Not only did they not have a clue what they were selling, they didn't have a clue what was in their products. Horrifying experience.

Malkore is correct. Supplements can only help you provided you are working your a$$ off in the gym to begin with. Malkore has a creatine sticky in this section. It's a good read.

Yeah. The local GNC here is horrible! I went in to look at some proteins last week, and the man working there was huuuuuuge (fatty). He asked me what my goal was and I told him, and he insisted on arguing with me over the benefits of HIIT, and how machines are faaarrr better then free weights. Last time I go there!

I really don't know what you guys are talking about. We should all know by now that places like GNC specialize in educating their staff so that they can thoroughly educate their customers on the extreme benefits of buying supplements (Or supp-ah-ments as they are usually referred to in the stores around here) that do anything and everything you can dream of, including, but not limited to growing extra fine hair on your thinning spot at the crown of your head, along with those patchy spots of facial hair! Come on now, GNC is an extremely fine establishment that only provides quality products, extremely fair prices and very knowledgable staff! :eek2:

hicarbon, I don't know anybody (strength athletes, bodybuilders, powerlifters, etc.) that has had a positive experience at GNC. The staff is not knowledgeable with respect to the products they sell, nor are they capable of answering basic questions with respect to their supplements.

I do know one of the GNC reps here, and he is very knowledgeable. But the staff in the store are useless.

If you gotta buy something, and you know exactly what it is, by all means go to GNC.

However, don't go there if you're looking for advice.
