Gene Therapy

So there are some safe looking gene therapies (injection that modify your genetics to improve your health) that could become available very quickly which have been developed by some non profits and I'm wondering why I haven't seen any advocacy for it coming from the weight loss community.

I'm of the opinion that gene therapy is the way to go for weight loss, some people worry about their weight and some don't. I want to be perfect and I work hard for it, but I've done a little bit of damage along the way and had some injuries and I'm only getting older. I heard about an ADA gene therapy in testing that's shown good results in animals and a few humans case studies and appears to be safe. It's not only good for diabetes and weight loss mind you, it's good for muscle wasting, alzheimer's, sclerotic plaques, bone density, and more. Basically, it improves overall metabolism by improving body composition. So it would become markedly easier to lose weight and keep it off.

So who is with me? Why not get some advocacy started? With the obesity epidemic and the seriousness of these other diseases being what they are, shouldn't the FDA accelerate testing and approval for gene therapies such as this?
