How far and how long?

Hey everyone,
I'm new to this site and had a question. I would like to start running, but am not sure how long I should run for. I'm 15, 125 lbs. and wrkout 3 days a week. If i jog steadly, is there ne suggestions u could give me for how long and often i should b running?
Thankxs a lot,
Murphy

Start with 3 days a week for 20 minutes. Once you can cover around 2.5-3 miles in 20 minutes you are ready for something more.

Hi, i wouldn't say distance is as important as intensity. I often see people run miles after miles, Scott Finley (endurance athlet) says it's junk miles. It is better to run from 60-80% intensity. Push yourself, don't just jog around. Then you'll se how far you can go. I would start with 10 minutes on week 1, and move up five minutes each week. That is what my cross country coach recommended. If you want to get fast, i've got more advice for that too.

start running as much as you can first and then take it to the next step.
dont listen to those who tell you to follow a program or run 15 minuts 3 times a week.
running is a very personnal thing and everyone has his own pace to get better in it

I am 16 years old 174 cm, 60kg I do kickboxing and boxing too and to the gyms and into sports.

Try to do about 4x a week if you want to see results running 20 - 30 mins with intensity in between with normal pace, about 3-5 miles. Per run with speed.

Or 3x a week (3-5miles) normal run.
1x a week 1 miles fast run.
Eat alot of carbohydrates and don't eat anything 3 hours prior to start drink alot of water before you start then when about to begin have a sip.
