Sport How does a 16-year-old male increase his metabolism?

Sport Fitness
I'm 16 years old. I've realized the reason I am 185 lbs (which is overweight), is because I have horrible metabolism and do nothing to care for it. This is my diet:

No breakfast,
a bottle of water for lunch or no lunch at all,
After-school snack which is where I may eat a bunch of fatty foods,
and little dinner.

I have very little time to eat throughout the day. I hear that one should eat small meals throughout the day to keep their metabolism going. I do exercise everyday, an intense cardio workout on the treadmill. But otherwise, I feel that my metabolism is horrible because I have also been rarely pooping which is an indicator of poor metabolism according to my doctor, along with the fact i am pretty heavy for a kid my age. Can someone please tell me what to do? Thanks!

You answered your own question. Eat your 3 traditional meals and 2-3 small meals throughout the day. Eat a protein, carb and good fat at each of those meals.

You should really work on getting your metabolism up now whilst you can. The older you get the more it will start to slow down. Make sure you keep as active as possible, the more activities and exercise you're doing, the more it will help to increase your metabolism. .
Try to eat a big healthy breakfast if you can. I know myself and a lot of people don't really feel hungry first thing in the morning, but believe me, if you get a good breakfast into you, it will really set you up for the rest of the day.
