How do you start the day...?

How do you all plan everything?

I'm curious if people get up the same time, eat the same thing and do the same routine every day.

I usually wake up between 11am - 1pm since I work night shifts.
Breakfast-
Bagel with low fat spread + jam.
Or a bowl of Fruit and Fibre.

I've been told breakfast is extremely important, and I never, ever used to eat it. I used to enjoy getting hungry for my lunch rather than trying to wake up and eating at the same time :(

ALSO

Has anyone ever tried a Soup Diet or if they know if they work?
I LOVE soup!

Get up at differing times depending on what I'm doing that day. But I have porridge and a banana everyday.

I don't know what the soup diet is. But if it's replacing main meals with just soup (like I suspect) then it isn't a good idea. Eat healthily and lose weight the right way.

During the week I have a pretty set routine:

Get up at 8AM
Get an Iced Coffee at 8:45AM
Get to work at 9AM
Eat a Small Lunch at 1PM
Small Snack at 6PM
Dinner at 8PM

On the weekends things are way more sporadic. Sometimes I will not have anything for the entire day haha. I enjoy fasting :) I have been doing this for about 2 years now.

I think it's great you are trying to get on a more ridgid schedule. For me, getting to my goal in the last 4 months was filled with sticking to my routine. I never planned my whole day in meals; instead, I would plan for the week by stocking up on Sunday night with groceries and foods that were in-line with the diet I am adhering to. I made sure the pantry didn't have foods that would make me stray from the diet, especially early on in the diet, when it's easier to cheat!

Soup can be VERY healthy. Here is the thing though, soup is composed of protien, fat, and carbs... just like almost every complete meal out there, it just happens to be served in a bowl. The only reasons I can think of for only eating soup are: it's easy to buy, you REALLY like soup (which I think you said in another thread), or you think it's best for your diet.

Either way, stick to something that works for you, and most importantly is healthy, and maintainable. It's one thing to stick to a diet to lose weight, but unless you change the factors that caused us to be overweight to begin with, long-term success is unlikely.

So, you posted this thread a couple days ago... any progress with your schedule?

I could do with totally overhauling my breakfast routine.

Monday to Friday, I get up at 7:30 and leave the house for work at 08:15 without eating- I generally eat a couple of slices of brown toast at work between 09:30-10:00 for breakfast.

On Saturday and Sunday I tend to laze in bed until 11am or so and make some porridge (steel cut oats), that stuff takes 30 minutes to cook which is why I currently don't eat it on weekdays, though I probably should as it's really great stuff.

Get up at 7 am.
Get coffee going.
Get Nemesis ready for school.
Get painkillers, wash them down with coffee.
Then I have breakfast, either sandwiches or porridge or cereals. Usually I don't really eat anything until about 10 am though. I'm trying to have my breakfast earlier, but I just can't.
My husband has a thing for soup in the morning, but warm food before lunchtime would send me straight to a session with the porcelaine god. Even smelling the soup or other warm foods makes me gag.

On weekends, I skip breakfast completely, simply because I refuse to set a foot downstairs before lunchtime.

One of the things I noticed that had an effect on me starting the day and kept me going throughout the day is getting up early in the morning do some jumping jacks, jump rope etc to jump start the day and do some stretching and very light workout from half hour to an hour then a good shower and a good breakfast. Believe it or not doing a lightworkout in the morning had the same effect of drinking coffee for me. Although I still prefer drinking coffee if Im unable to do my morning routine ;)

I typically wake up sometime between 7:15 and 9:00am, just depending on what I have to get done for the day.
My breakfast isn't consistent; it's dependent on whether or not I have bigger meals planned for later in the day.
For instance, this morning I had a ham, egg and cheese beakfast sandwich (SmartOnes brand) and a piece of chocolate; that's 5 out of the 27 points I'm allowed to eat for the day (while I know not everyone is familiar with the WW system, its just a set of comparative numbers to look at).

Usually, it's a piece of fruit and a 100-calorie pack, or sometimes fruit and toast with peanut butter.

Digest a bit, then hit the gym!

I usually wake at 7 - 8 am. I have 3 Chapatis with Jam and have Tea with it. Yeah certainly breakfast is very important and everyone must make sure they don't skip breakfast as it is very much needed for energy needed for daily work. Thanks

To wake up early in the morning & doing exercise is most important for myself.
