Sport How can I gain 20 pounds??

Sport Fitness
I am 5/7 and I weight 130 pounds. I want to weight 150. How can I gain those 20 pounds? I been eating alot and its not helping. I still weight the same. Is it because I am eating the wrong type of food? I work at mc donalds so most of the food I eat is mc donalds. I been eating like 5 or 6 meals a day forcing myself even tho I am full. Could it be because I workout and run??

You may be eating alot but the more important question is are you eating enough? Gaining weight is simply consuming more calories than you burn off. You have to keep adding calories till the scale goes up. I weighed 125lbs at one time and had to eat almost 6000 calories a day to gain weight. :(

is your goal to just put on the weight, or would you prefer it to be muscle? 20lbs of fat is a lot of fat. are you doing any sort of weight routine?

Haha, talk about that would be an exchange program. :D :D

Yea, I hope he's referring to good weight and not just any weight

is there such a thing as "good" weight? seriously.

is the weight gain from chicken and broccoli, for example, "better" than the gain from soda and chips?

we're talking about lean mass weight gain vs. fat gain.

which, incidentally is related to the difference between chicken and broccoli vs. pop and chips ;)

HAHA...'pop' and chips...sorry

dude, could you post your typical diet and workout routine, it'd help to see whats going on

Exactly. Gaining 20lbs of fat is pretty easy with the wrong foods and no training. Gaining 20lbs of mostly lean bodyweight is with good foods and solid training. Some gain in bodyfat is to be expected and is beneficial because some of these guys are so thin it helps them to look more "healthy". That's how I was. Twently pounds of nothing but solid muscle is more fantasy than reality. :D

Hello and Good Morning Forum
How you can gain 20 extra pounds you can eat late at night and go to sleep on it that way all the food turns into fat and its not burned off. Become inactive in doing exercise and just eat fattening foods like Junk food Fast Food Pastas you know something with alot of Carbohydates in it. I hope my Advice Helped!

Two very poor posts. You're proving you don't know what you're talking about.

- mistake #1...no meal plan. that's a setup for failure.

Why are you working out for 2 hours? why do you run for 3 hours?? Again, a setup for failure...spending twice as long working out as you should, and running long distances is exactly how you lose weight...and your goal is to gain.

Throw out everything you're doing and start over with:
1. a solid meal program
2. a solid weight training regimen 3-4 days a week, 60 mins max per session.
3. interval cardio, 20-30 mins.

this is a good recipe for success. the goal to gaining weight is taking in more calories than you burn off in a day...so why are you running 2-3 hours? this burns LOTS of calories (and lean mass) and makes it much more difficult for you to GAIN.

You see, you are fighting against yourself. follow malkore's advice. If you have goals you need to have a structured plan.

hmmm............. reading you guys on this post has given me a littles insight for my self. thank you
