Sport How about honey ?

Sport Fitness
I like to swim first thing in the morning, and I'm aware that fasted cardio is risky as far as maintaining muscle goes. Of course, swimming on a full stomach isn't a great option either, so I'm wondering what you think about having a tablespoon or so of honey right before swimming. Also, if you have any other comments on honey, for example maybe it will help me burn fat instead muscle during my swim more than say eating oatmeal before a swim would because of its sugar form, I'd like to hear them. Thanks

I'm not a fan of honey in general because of its processing (If you can find raw, unprocessed honey, then by all means. Speaking of, "Manuka" honey is unprocessed and provides a good dose of nutrition if you want to use that instead..more expensive though).

Occasionally I swim as well in the morning before anything else, but find exercising on an empty stomach yields poor workouts. What I do is eat some fruit; by the time my workout starts, the fruit has pretty much emptied from my stomach since fruit digests very quickly.

i dont really think some honey would do anything, why dont you have a good breakfast before hand that will help you swim harder and longer?

"Of course, swimming on a full stomach isn't a great option either"
