oh, hey. i just found this online.

has anyone done the Couch to 5K plan??

Hi there.

I haven't used that specific plan, but I did follow a similar one back in 2008/09 when I was training from absolute scratch for a half marathon (I'd never run any kind of serious distance before that).

I found that it worked really well for me in terms of building the stamina that I needed, because the walking does give you the breaks you feel you need (mentally as well as physically), and these gradually get shorter as the running periods get longer.

I stuck with time, rather than distance, as my measure; that way, you get to jog at your own pace. Just make sure you try to stick consistently with three sessions a week and do take water with you. Might be better to train at a cooler time of day, too.

I ultimately managed my half marathon in just under 2 hours, so these programmes do seem to work. Best of luck! :sport:

It would not be too hard as you think. All you need to go in proper and scheduled way. I would like to tell you that you should not start jogging in rigorous way right now. It would not work and more importantly it would create lots of obstacle.

You did not mention how long you can jog right now. I think you are at the initial stage. Then from today jog at least 1 miles for per day. Make sure you drink lots of water before jogging. Continue your current routine for at least one month.

After one month you should reschedule your routine and jog 1.5 to 2 miles. Don't give up. Mind it you are in advanced level now. You need to work really hard at this stage. So don't give up and keep up your hard work. You need to continue in this frame. If you follow this then you would reach your desired destination with ease.
