I have seen a lot of stuff on the web and TV lately about Hoodia Gordinia. Its a south african cactus plant that they refine into tablets. It is completely natural and has no side affects,it supresses your appetite.
It some how tricks your body into thinking its full!
Im not about to look for a 'quick fix' but if they are completely natural with no side affects.....
Its not availlable in oz yet I think,Im sure it will be soon enough thou!
Anyone heard anything about it?

I constantly get spam mail about this, I haven't really looked into it though, so I guess I'm no help.

I used Hoodia for a while, and found that it did a good job of suppressing appetite. However, I had to do a lot of reading into it, because there are a lot of really bad hoodia products to use too. Basically, you do not want any of the "concentrated" hoodia products, because the process of concentrating it down actually causes it to lose effectiveness somehow. The good stuff is expensive (I paid like $60 for a bottle).

Keep in mind that despite its short term effectiveness, it is not a good thing to rely on. As soon as you go off of it, all the hunger comes back, and if you haven't learned to deal with that hunger effectively you will probably overshoot and gain again.

So basically its the same as phentermine or ephedera, but much safer not being an amphetamine. No side affects being a plant food type.
Yeah you would have to be on it for the rest of your life!
It is quite expensive, just like phentermine!
I wonder if they will allow the seeds to be sold so we could grow it ourselves!
The big drug companies would fight tooth and nail not to let that happen!:p
No profit in it for them if that happens is there!!!;)

If it's being marketed by spam, that should be a good indication that it isn't worth using.

not necessarily true. the thing about hoodia tho is you have to be careful about where you get it. do your research and investigate the source carefully FIRST before you decide to buy. i have heard a lot of companys selling low grade hoodia or places that sell it but the amount is thats actually in the capsule is so tiny, you may as well not even bother. it has to be the ACTUAL stuff thats grown in africa.

You can buy the hoodia plant on eBay as well as the seeds. Your right, the majority of hoodia pills out there are bogus. They're just thermogenics like ephedra. Has anyone found a real source for this product? Thanks.

I bought some hoodia from the local health food store, it has to be Hoodia Gordonii or it's not the right sub species and it doesn't have that key active ingredient. I've researched this a lot, and I've used it. It's OK, but it isn't a miracle pill. The tea doesn't work as well and it's kinda slimy, but the capsules are OK. I think at a real natural foods store you can get the right kind, but read the labels. I think the one I got was Flora brand, and it did work, but starving yourself artificially is a dangerous rope to walk. Make sure you're eating enough and regularly so that your blood sugar stays constant. Hoodia is no good if you take it, skip all your meals for 8 hours and then binge.

just like the gov't cutting off canadian drug stores so seniors can actually buy their prescriptions. its a sick capitalist world we live when poor, lonely seniors cant afford this new part D plan that gave medicare benefits to insurance companies. but hey que sera sera:(

Hmmm... When I first lost a bunch of weight I used to use Pyruvate for a while, because it's considered safe, too. Supposedly it increases metabolism, but i found it made a good appetite surpressant instead. This time around I discovered water and spicy foods do a better job, and they cost a lot less (and probably have more benefits and less side effects).

The problem with natural drugs is they don't go through the FDA so there is no one watching them for quality. They're also expensive and not something you'd continue using once you lost the weight. If you are trying to get a start, though, they may be okay motivators (as long as you are CAREFUL).

Hoodia

I recently bought my first bottle of 60capsule from phentraslimplus.com and I have taking it for about 4 days now. I am taking it two times a day and it took about two days before I can feel the effect of not wanting to eat much anymore. I believe they have the real stuff, I will post every other week with my progress.

Hoodia works for me..

I have been using the Hoodia from GNC, and nursing on the hoodia power pops for about about a month and a half right now.. and they/it works. I believe that it is more than my imagination. I like the pops because you suck on them, along with water.. and it really helps out, keeping you from reaching for deserts, etc. So far in two months, I have lost 24 pounds. I want to lose some more, getting down to 160 pounds.
