Sport home made nutri bars. questions

Sport Fitness
I just saw a post with tons of great recipes and I copied it all down. The only thing I do not get is if you have to cook rolled oats? I know when I cook them in water they soak up TONS of water so are they safe to eat raw? It just says to put in fridge over night. Do I need to do anything to the oats first? thanks

3 Cups Oatmeal
1/2 Cup Natural Peanut butter
1 cup Skim Milk
4 Scoops Protein Powder
dash of cinnamon

Mix until a sticky batter is formed (may take a few minutes)

use a large spoon to spread out the mix into the bottom of a Pam-sprayed glass or metal cooking tray (spread until even)

top with 4-8 packets splenda

put in the fridge overnight and cut into 8 equal bars that yield:

11g fat (good monounsaturated fats)
26g carbs
21g protein

285 calories

I make my own protein bars, usually using Quaker Oats (are these the same as rolled oats?) and I don't cook them. Just store them in the fridge and they're fine (although the last lot were a little stickier than they should ahve been!!)

Yeah when i make my various creations with oats i dont cook them first, just thick rolled oats in whatever i am making.

thanks

Thanks for the info guys. I think I will go make some today. being new to the gym again I pushed WAY too hard the other day and felt ill. Woulda been nice to have some healthy carb protein bars to refuel.
