Hey everybody.

I kinda stumbled in here via google. I was looking for a new support site and I felt I didn't really fit in anywhere else... Other message sites seemed to have their own clique and I didn't feel very welcomed cause they were so established and so big. Honestly I felt loss. So I kinda stumbled in here. Whew. I'm glad there's a newbie forum here.

Um. My name's Caroline but everyone just calls me C nowadays. I'm 25 this year. Unemployed (Apparently graduation is just another word for unemployment). At my highest I was 308. My current weight is 284. I'm one pound away from reaching my mini-goal of 25 pound weight loss. My goal weight is 125 pounds (which may or may not be realistic but hey... I'm a petite. apparently, that is supposed to be my weight. eep!).

Um. um. yeah. that's it about me. *waves shyly*

Hey C,

You're in the same boat as me. I'm pretty relieved to find this forum. Best of luck to you!

Another Newbie

Hi,
I am also new to the forum and just wanted to connect and say "hi." I, too, have a large amount of weight to lose (currently I'm 365). I have lost a large amount of weight before and found it really helpful to set smaller goals and not focus too much on the ultimate one until it got within reach. I think this is really important for people who are really obese. For example, I would go by 25 pound increments. I also set other goals that were "milestone" goals for me--losing enough so I could go on rides with my daughter and not worry about not fitting, getting my first piece of clothing from the "regular size" department, getting under the weight restriction for horseback riding, getting my cholesteral down 10 points, that kind of thing. These kind of goals are important because they really help you celebrate the positive impact your hard work will have on your life.

Good luck on your journey. It may seem long at this point, but most good things don't happen overnight. Remember, every pound you lose makes a positive impact on your health and you are going in the right direction!
