Hiya!

Hey everyone! I am Brad and I live in the USA! I'm 15, and I would like to tone myself some and get a stronger heart because I have pulmonary regurgitation... Which basically means that some blood flows in the wrong way. But it isn't too severe and I would like to get my heart stronger in case I do wind up having to have surgury it will help me heal faster.
Also I would like to just tone my body up... I don't really want to become a big body builder or anything but I would like to be stronger than I am right now. In a few months I will have access to a gym but for the moment it is just at home with no equipment, so if anyone has any advice you can give me I would appreciate it.
Thanks!
Brad

Hi Brad - welcome to the forum. Getting stronger without getting 'huge' won't be a problem so, don't worry about that. Cardiovascular excercise and a healthy diet should go some way to strengthening your heart but, if I were you, I would consult a doctor before entering into a training programme as you have a heart condition.

There are all kinds of excercises you can do at home - it may be worth investing in a cheap pair of dumbells too.

Best of luck with your goals.

Excersising is not a threat to my health they've already told me that I need to be strengthening my heart. Thanks for the advice. I will probably wind up getting some dumbbells... What kind of weight would you reccomend. I can do a 15lb 20 times or so with not too much trouble

I would get a couple of dumbell bars and some small plates (eg 4 x 2.5kg). You'll find that you are able to lift different amounts of weight for different excercises so, it'll be useful to be able to increase/decrease the load slightly. Plus, as you get stronger, you can easily buy more plates to increase resistance. ebay is your friend ;) (sorry mods if thats advertising)

hey Brad welcome and good luck...i know u can check body fat..with BF calippers...u can get really cheap digital ones for like 20 bucks...somewhere on here there is a post about it...Good luck!

I would suggest excercises for most body parts to give you a comprehensive workout. 2 sets of 10 - 15 reps to start with perhaps. I just googled for some specific excercises:
