Hitting The Wall

I've have been having problems running more than 3 hours (16.6) miles on my long day. I'm hyrdrating with water and have drank slimfast (250 cal) on the hour for continued energy. However, even with a adequate intake of water the slimfast appears to be dehyrdrating me. I was hoping to run a 6 hour trail race on 6/30, but at this point that appears hopeless. Any suggestions?
 
I'm no fan of Slimfast, but I've heard of slimfast as a recovery drink.

Since it is not energizing you on your runs, why don't you try some of the sports gels or sports drinks or other products that are made exressly for that purpose (and are generally easier to carry).

Also, certain gels/drinks/beans/bars don't work as well as other (but what works for me may not work for you), so try several different types/brands if the first one you try doesn't do it for ya.

Bythe by, how can you run after drinking a slimfast? Blech! I'd be fartin' and burpin' the whole way home.
