Hiit

I have some questions about High Intensity Interval Training. I've just finished the fourth week, and tomorrow will start the fifth which is 10 sprint intervals and 10 rest intervals, 30 seconds each. With the program I'm doing, the 8th week is the last week and you then have 15 sprint intervals and 15 rest intervals. I also lift weights on the days I don't run.

I want to know a few things. When I get there, should I then increase my intervals and shorten my jog time, or should I just focus on improving my sprint? Would it be okay to do it everyday eventually? It isn't really wearing down on me now, I used to run every day. Also, I'm about 5'6 and some, around 155 lbs, and I usually eat about 1200 calories a day. I've been told by people and calculators that I should eat around 2000 a day. Am I eating too little? I generally eat well, with a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole wheat breads, etc. Even though I feel am I eating enough, I believe the food I eat is low calorie enough that it won't add up to that number.

Your body will adjust to whatever you are doing over time. My suggestion is just mix up the interval times and the cardio you are doing for hiit (running, stationary bike, etc...), so you never do the same routine twice in a row.

Thanks :) There was more to that post, I don't know where it went but there were a few more questions I had if anyone would care to answer them.
