I've had a bit of a search around and I think I have a good idea of what HIIT is. I want to get into some more 'anaerobic' type exercizes in an effort to lose weight and get fitter - I'm thinking in combination with jogging and riding my mountain bike.
I live in a very hilly city - everywhere you go, there's hills! And when you're at the top of one hill, there's another big hill right in front of you! So ym question is, can I use this terrain as a sort of HIIT workout? For example, when I leave my apartment, I have a short (200 meter or so) run up a slight incline (about 20 meters elevation I think), then about a 300m flat run to the gardens. I was thinking this would make a decent warm-up. Then into the gardens, there are various large hills - sprinting to the top of one hill (say, a one minute sprint), then a fast walk to the next hill, say another minute, then another sprint up, etc etc. Is this what an HIIT workout consists of? Would this be a good workout, if it lasted a total of, say 30 minutes?
Thanks for your help!
