Ok.

I am a 15 year old boy. I weigh approximatly, 233.5 Pounds. I am 5' 10".

So last week I weighed 244. I basically starved myself, and yes I know its not good.

I want too do this the right way though I have been trying for a while but I finally found these forums and hopefully they help.

Basically my friends are freakin out that im anarexic ect. So yeah.

I do aerobic excersices about 40 minutes a day.

I want too get down too around 170.

For the last week I have been on a 900 calorie a day diet. So please help me out. Thanks.

I used too have a bit of a drinking problem, along with no exercises, and a little bit of a smoking problem (illegal stuff*) I just recently stopped like 2 weeks ago all of it at once and I am getting horrible headaches and I am getting dizzy pretty much whenever I stand up...

So yeah. Thanks for reading.

What exactly do you need help with?

I think you understand that you are undereating. I think some good info on nutrition would be your first start. John Berardi - Nutrition Articles

There are a ton of free articles at this site. Beware there is advertising at the bottom of each, but you are under no obligation to purchase anything.

Well if by "starvation" you meant the 900 calorie a day diet, then yes its a little too low, I'm estimating that 1500-1600 would be healthier for someone your age because you are still growing. Just remember the less you eat the healthier it has to be to get in all your nutrients (don't hesitate if you need to ask for some nutrition advice)

It's good you've begun to ween yourself off your bad habits, because of the way alcohol reacts with your metabolism you're on the right step removing it from your consumption. It's going to suck if you quit all the bad stuff cold turkey but power through it and you'll feel better than ever and that's something to be proud of.

Cardio 30mins-an hour a day is good, mix it up and have some fun. If you go paintballing (like your name suggests) and you're hiking through the woods full steam for an hour or two, that's easily 500+ calories.

I do suggest adding some weight training even if it's just rudimentary dumbbell stuff as it'll conserve muscle tissue as your body burns off fat.

Thanks too both of you, I play a different kind of paintball with a lot of running and sliding involved but not much long distance stuff.(If you watch ESPN2 That's the kinda paintball) But the whole day is a huge workout sense its constant. Also its only once per week as well.

Thanks for the help, guys if anyone has more help please post, I am looking for more or less a guideline of what I can eat, Do for lunch (as a substitue for school lunch) What should I do for breakfast, and I don't have much control over dinner as its my parents choice and unfortunatly they have very little time for dinner so they usually get mcdonalds (eww) and I now get 2 Snack Wraps as my meal and it feeds me pretty well.

So a basic run down on healthy eating habits would be cool.

As for the bad habits, I've gotten past the 3 day hump so It should hopefully be easy.

I just want too get out of this look and into a new one. Thanks guys.

Given the whole situation, the dizziness and headaches sounds more like a low blood sugar issue than stopping smoking pot or stopping drinking. Try to eat small healthy snacks throughout the day. Alot of times if you eat a snack in between your small meals so that you're stretching out the number of times you eat every day to 5 or 6 times, you can keep your blood sugar up better. I'd say try this and see if you feel better.

Can anyone see anything Terribly wrong and what can I do too help? Also I dont drink nearly enough water, How could I improve on that? Like how did you guys get in the habit?

**For every meal I only Drink Diet Pepsi. I have heard rumors this helps gain weight can I please get a logical awnser as too the truth and why.**

Thanks guys!

I'm hooked on pop; I've made mine a treat. I keep a glass or bottle of water always within reach, and sip on it all day. I leave a small bottle of pop in the fridge. Throughout the day, I sip on that.

It's something you have to make a conscious effort to do. Water is necessary for your body (including weight loss) to function properly.

a 1 run in a week withen paintball is something that regular people do, i think u need much of runing in long distance also many water and that should be 3-4 runs of 1.5 kilometers each, keep up like that with a lof of drinking and you will be fine, u can start with 1 km 3 times a week and move over after 2 weeks to 1.5 km 4 times a week, and remember runing and not walking....walking ant gona help u much in that situation, walking would just keep your curent weight but u need to lower it, so good luck buddy.

If you want to lose weight, you will not get there with fast food. Panda express is fast food. Subway is advertised as healthy, but in reality, cooking your meals is the key. You can find easy breakfast ideas on this forum. You can bring snacks like fruit and nuts to school with you. For the water: What I do is carry a bottle of water around with me. Having it in my hand or in front of me helps me to remember to drink it or just sip on it from time to time. Remember you have three kinds of appetite and water is one that you might not pay attention to. If you are lacking in water, it may cause you to overeat.
If you want to lose weight, do it in a healthy way. If you continue at the rate you are going, you are just going to gain this weight back, and then some.

I know, See my parents were gone on a valentines day cruise for a week, so my older brother was "incharge" and he doesnt give a damn what I want so we got what he wants. I know it wasnt healthy so I cut it down, Panda I ate half for dinner then half for breakfast, The subway, I ate half for dinner, half for breakfast.

I am working on it. But thank you guys. More comments are helpful

I will start drinking more water, and P.S. I run about 3 miles a day during pb, and then my job on the other weekend day consists of a good 2 miles. :) So yeah its cool. Ill see if I can schedule some more runs in sometime.

It seems like others pointed out that you need to eat more healthy foods. You should also try eating 6 mini meals a day spaced 3 hours apart as it helps your metabolism.
Breakfast- 2 Eggs
Snack 1- apple or pear
Lunch- A grilled cheese or Salad w/chicken
Snack 2- Yogurt and some fruit
Dinner- What ever is cooked. (If fast food, get a grilled chicken or a burger and eat it without the bread)
Snack3- A granola bar

That's what I mean by six minimeals

You should also sprint. Sprinting burns more calories than distance running and sprinting conditions you better. Being well conditioned in paintball is great. You should also try to join a school sport as it will give you less free time to smoke and drink. Spring is coming so you should try lacrosse if your school has it. Lacrosse is a great sport which is like football and requires a lot of activity. You could do baseball or track as well.

Stay away from the substances, they will kill your metabolism and make it harder for you to lose weight.

Hi there. I'm new to this forum but I've been into health and fitness for a while. I'm not sure how many cals you're consuming now, but for weight loss you want about 12-13 x body weight. That would put you at about 2800 calories. I know that sounds like a lot, but if you go too low you'll totally screw up your metabolism. You especially don't want to go too low since you are still growing too.
It also seems like you're doing a lot of cardio, which is great! Especially if you enjoy doing it. I would also suggest working with weights and building more muscle. I'm not sure how much access you have to weights, but I think if you were able to lift 2-3 x a week you would see better results.
