Hi!!

:) I'm seventeen and I've been fat my whole life. I was indenial, thinking that my body size was alright, and that I was healthy because I have never (touch wood) gotten seriously sick or anything like that. But when I went onto Sparkpeople and typed in my details:

198lbs 5 ft 2

I finally saw what I really never wanted to see:

OBESE.

I could not believe it. I was in shock. But it was a wake up call like no other. And then all these signs came from nowhere. Like last year when I went to the theme park and squashed into the seat. The same thing happened on the bus. And my whole life I've never been able to buy the fashionable clothes. Always crying in the changing room because once again, the clothes did not fit. And feeling self conscious when I went swimming.

Hopefully by the time I reach my final goal, I will:

1. Wear a bikini for the first time in my life.
2. Feel attractive.
3. Gain loads of confidence.
4. Make loads of friends.
5. Wear a short (not too short) skirt for the first time.
6. Show my legs in public with pride.
7. My legs not rub against each other.
8. My "chicken wings" to disappear.
9. To speak louder and with more confidence.

And 10, the most important.... Be a healthy, young woman.:)

P.S. It was long, but I felt like it (sorry). Love the board so far. I've been here before, but I just joined today. Yay!

Hi Heaven. Welcome to the forum. I know that self esteem is one of the personalities that get affected when we are over-weight. When you start losing the extra pounds, you will have renewed self esteem. What kind of exercise and diet program do you have going or are planning on doing? Good to have you here. I'm sure that you will find lots of information here that you will be able to use. Have a great day.;)

Thanks for replying!

I do Taebo 5-6 times a week. (But this week because I'm feeling hot and lazy).

I already feel much better. I suddenly want to make an effort to look good, even though I'm not at my desired size yet. A BIG improvement over my attitude only a week ago.:D

Being patient and keeping a positive attitude is going to be very important. Welcome! Good Luck with your goals.
