I'm seventeen and I've been fat my whole life. I was indenial, thinking that my body size was alright, and that I was healthy because I have never (touch wood) gotten seriously sick or anything like that. But when I went onto Sparkpeople and typed in my details:
198lbs 5 ft 2
I finally saw what I really never wanted to see:
OBESE.
I could not believe it. I was in shock. But it was a wake up call like no other. And then all these signs came from nowhere. Like last year when I went to the theme park and squashed into the seat. The same thing happened on the bus. And my whole life I've never been able to buy the fashionable clothes. Always crying in the changing room because once again, the clothes did not fit. And feeling self conscious when I went swimming.
Hopefully by the time I reach my final goal, I will:
1. Wear a bikini for the first time in my life.
2. Feel attractive.
3. Gain loads of confidence.
4. Make loads of friends.
5. Wear a short (not too short) skirt for the first time.
6. Show my legs in public with pride.
7. My legs not rub against each other.
8. My "chicken wings" to disappear.
9. To speak louder and with more confidence.
And 10, the most important.... Be a healthy, young woman.
P.S. It was long, but I felt like it (sorry). Love the board so far. I've been here before, but I just joined today. Yay!
