Hi.

Hey everyone =]

uhm, I randomly came across this forum today and hope to use it as motivation...

The site is pretty big, so I'll just ask here... I was wondering if anyone knew enough about excercising ect. to kind of guide me, talk to me a little and help me figure a plan out, I'm tired of being the size I am.

Also, I have started running on my treadmill, I was wondering if it's better or worse than actually going out and running on a track?

if you can help, thanks.

hello welcome to the forum and happy holidays..:)

Hi and welcome to the forum. You will find lots of good info about exercising.

I do not think there are any hard and fast rules about running on treadmill versus running on track. Each has its advantages and disadvantages.

Running on a treadmill enables you to avoid bad weather like wind, rain and snow. Of course, this depends on where you are. For those of us in UK, the weather will be unforgiving this week. Only the most daring can run outside.

The surface of a treadmill is cushioned. This helps prevent the joint and muscle strains.

A treadmill however does restrict your body movements unlike a track. You may burn more calories on a track due to unrestricted movements.

Cathy.
