Hi

I've been looking around and thought I'd introduce myself.

I am currently overweight... pretty seriously overweight, and I've decided that I really want to do something about it now. I need all the help I can get!! :)

I've always enjoyed exercising, but go on and off the wagon sometimes. Currently I do water aerobics, some weight lifting, and the eliptical trainer or the recumbant bike at the gym.

I eat too much!! That's all there is to that. I've tried to gradually make better choices, whole wheat rather than white, cutting out sodas & fast food (only moderately successful here), and trying to eat more fruits & veggies. But food is my weakness.

Four or five years ago I went gung-ho on a diet & exercise program and actually lost quite a bit of weight. Unfortunately I did some unspecified damage to my knee and have had serious knee pain ever since (been to all the doctors, had all the tests - nothing they can do about it :( ) This really limits the amount of exercise I can do, and led directly to me gaining all the weight + more back.

I'm hoping this will be someplace I can find support, encouragement & advice to keep me on track. Thanks in advance! :D
 
Welcome to the boards, I hope you find what your looking for here. IMO your diet is the most important thing. You can get around being limited in your physical activity as long as you don't sabatoge yourself by eating bad foods. I believe people can overcome, I have a very addictive personality and since November I have given up smoking, soda, sugary foods, candy and fast food as well as computer and T.V. watching time. You can do it.
 
Hey, welcome there.... Hope you manage to control your cravings and better your lifestyle... You can do it! This is a great board, very active members, so Im sure you will get tons of help here ;)
