On the 30th January 2013 I joined a local Slimming World group weighing 22st 11.5 lbs, by 30th September 2014 I was down to 14st 4.5 lbs. Now the weight for a 5ft 8" large frame male according to the numerous charts on Google is between 9st to 14st, I found and still use an app called Monitor Your Weight which after entering all my details showed a target weight of 12st 2 lbs.
I found loosing the first half of that 8.5 stones easy by just keeping to their diet but more important attending every group weigh in meeting where I got great support and encouragement, in fact it got quite embarrassing being ' Slimmer of the Week' every week and Slimmer of the Month.
However as my weight loss amounts reduced I took up swimming visiting my local pool early most morn, ing to swim 50 lengths, however I found this extremely boring and as I'd recently acquired a bike from a relative took up cycling.
Some time in September 2014 we went out to Spain, I transferred to Slimmers World on line but only for 1 year its not the same getting the support and camaraderie from the group leader and other members.![Frown :( :(](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
I now ride over 300 miles a month but despite still sticking to a diet ( NO beer or wine or pork pies
) I tend to only gain or loose 1 lb so a couple of weeks ago I started in addition to the cycling walking 1.5 miles every day, lost 1lb last and this week.
One danger I believe that can happen with all this exercise is NOT to say to yourself," I'm doing all this exercise so one or two Mars Bars won't hurt?"
Regards Mick
