Hi Everyone. I was just looking around and came across this forum and I decided to join. Here's a little about me and why I'm here. I am 20 years old, 5'2" and 147 pounds. I have been "attempting to" shed what's seemed like a gazillion pounds for the past 2 years. When I graduated from high school I weighed close to 180 and I joined Weight Watchers and after some set backs, am down to where I am now. I recently joined a gym and have been doing great, dropping about 1 lb. a week. But I thought I could use some encouragement as well as give some out. If anyone ever has any questions about anything with their bodies, I'm a massage therapist and have taken many many classes (science, muscle, etc.). Just thought I'd mention that. Alright well I hope everyone can give me a little help and I look forward to my time here. Thanks :D

welcome to our forum! If your looking for support and encouragment, you've found the right place!

welcome! keep up the good work! hey... since you mentioned that you do massage and stuff with muscles... what is a really good way to stretch calf muscles... I have started jumping rope again, and my calves are killing me. any advice you have would be awesome, and if you don't have any... well, that's perfectly okay =)

message therapist ... hmm, where do you live??? j/k

Amonono ... i'm not a message therapist but i heard a really simple trick to help stay loose ... when you are sitting at a desk or couch ... just lift your knees and hold ... and then lift and hold your toes ... does this for 30 second holds 2-3 times a/day and you should stay limber and it's also supposed to avoid shin splints.

Calf stretch

I was taught this one: sit on the floor or a chair and put your leg out, pull at your toes. HOWEVER, I personally think this one works better: find a wall and put your toes against the wall 5-6 inches off the ground, heel on the floor (foot at 45 degree angle against the wall) , put your hands on the wall and lean forward. Switch and do other side. You will feel a good stretch and if you don't, adjust a little and you should. If you have any questions feel free to ask . :)

Welcome to the forum! I'm still pretty new myself but in the short time here I have found great support and encouragement.

I personally dont think pills work at least not for long term... But I have only seen a low cal high exercise work for people. I took a pill years ago when i was looking for a miracle drug..and it made me shakey and feel crapy. Good luck
