Hi Starting to run and chin splints

HI,

I have not run for years. I want to start up agian but I have two problems. The first is I am way out of shape and over weight so I need help with how to start and how to increase my level.

The other issue I have is when I use to run I always got chin splints. Is there something I can do to prevent this?

Wow. I was just coming on here to make a thread asking how to deal w/ these shin splints. Someone please help. And yes, I have stopped running on hard surfaces but they arent getting better even after a few days off.
