Hi , i am a female , 27 years of age ... 5 ft 4in... and i weigh 176 pounds.

Started a healthy regime on monday and joined the gym... I just want to know if im doing stuff right.

This is a typical day for me since starting ....

1 hour of gym everyday, then either poached egg on 2 granary toast OR mushroom omelette (mid morning).... then mid afternoon fruit or a low calorie yoghuart .... and then for dinner either a weight watchers meal.... or home cooked meal like shepherds pie. I eat fruit after dinner.

any tips??? or advice???

Hey Charlotte,

Well done for starting to make a change!

I would say add a serving of vegetables to each meal.

As for the gym.... depending on what exactly you are doing for a workout can make or break your efforts.

The best way to lose fat is to start a resistance program, comprising of around 4 total body exercises such as squats, lunges, press ups and core exercises.

Do them in a circuit fashion, back to back, alternating between lower body and upper body exercises - this increases your metabolic rate so you burn more calories for the hours after the workout has finished.

Then you could finish with some interval training if you like to use cadio machines (although this is optional) for about 20 minutes - repeating a cycle of 30 seconds all-out intense effort followed by 60 seconds at a light, recovery pace.

Repeat that for 5 - 8 rounds. No longer than 20=30 minutes maximum needed.

Thats just a very basic over view but it'll get you started on the right foot.

Let us know if you have any other questions!
