Hi guys

Just thought I'd introduce myself, I've been overweight for some years now but never excessively so like now. At every routine checkup and blood tests docs have warned me that my cholestral is high numerous times but I carried on eating anyway. There is nothing wrong with my thyroid and my weight gain isn't genetic I was a slim child growing up and only became overweight during pregnancy but never managed to lose it after.

I've been feeling very fatigued past few months and passed out numerous times, had blood tests done. Just been diagnosed with diabetes and need to lose weight fast. I refused meds because I want to reverse it. Doc gave me 4 months after which if there is no change I probably have to go on meds.

I'm told as its self inflicted and not genetic, and I've just been diagnosed and there is no long term damage yet, it's possible I can put it into remission if I follow the correct diet and exercise and keep it up.

So here my weight loss journey begins. I'll post in the relevant section soon, just wanted to introduce myself first. :)

Hey Feefi, welcome!

You have found a good place, I think you will find help here with your plans. I suggest that you start by starting a diary on the Weight Loss Diary page (https://weight-loss.fitness.com/forums/weight-loss-diary.9/ ). You can tell us more about yourself and your goals there, you will also get more responses, 90% of the traffic here happens in the diaries.

You will find people here with a similar story, friendly helpful people who are always willing to listen and share their wisdom. Me, I was "excessively so" for far too much of my life.

I am looking forward to seeing your progress, and hope to be a small part of your journey.

part of you plan should be setting reasonable goals. the most frustrating thing you will probably discover is that weight takes a lot longer to get rid of than it does to put it on. and the first few weeks of correcting your eating habits and getting exercise to kick in typically shows little positive result. also, the closer you get to your goal weight, the tougher it will be.

those negatives out of the way, with small goal steps calculated, you should be ok. just try to take your mind off things happening fast. i'm sure your doctor is not looking for a certain weight loss, but instead that you are at least heading there with a good plan you are following.

Thanks for the welcome!

I'll be starting a diary shortly and logging my progress.. I know it will be tough but I'm ready

Hi, Feefi & welcome to the forum :) Coming over to the diary section would be a good idea. There's lots of friendly & helpful folk.
You would probably benefit from contacting a diabetes centre & getting as much info as you. I just had a quick look at the Australian one- About Diabetes

Hey Feefi, how goes it?
