Hi all!
Just wanted to introduce myself. I am busy mom and wife with a professional career, however I am completely exhausted by the day to day activities of life. Even with an active lifestyle, my weight has been a constant yo-yo. I have tried every diet and product on the market but was never able to achieve lasting results. The weight would go but always return and the cycle would start again.

After a recent health scare, I finally decided I had enough. I am starting a very intense program on 11/7 and I hope that this is going to be the thing that gets me on the right path for good. I joined this group for support, to get advice and hopefully, share my own success. Looking forward to getting to know you all virtually.

Hi, Laura & welcome to the forum. Getting off the dieting merry-go-round is the go in order to sustain weight-loss. I wish I had never "dieted" & just been sensible about my health & nutrition. What do you eat now that you think you shouldn't? Do you get enough sleep? Do you drink 8 glasses of water a day? Making simple changes can help you get on the right track.
The diary section of the forum is a good place to get support. You'll find it at https://weight-loss.fitness.com/forums/weight-loss-diary.9/
Cheers, Cate.

Hi Laura,
Welcome. If you're doing an intense programme then I'm assuming you mean a nutrition and exercise regime? If that's what you're doing then just be sure the nutrition has a balance of carbs, fats and protein and that you're not doing something that completely cuts one. You need all of them, likewise it should be something that prescribes a good mix of complex carbs (hopefully lots of dark leafy greens, salad and plenty of vegetables). I think the key to sustainable weight loss is understanding what different foods do for your body so whatever your new regime is, particularly if it works, invest some time understanding why it works and you'll be done with the yo yo'ing.
That's some general advice without knowing anything about your medical scare of course
