Happy to have found this forum, and hoping it will be a great fit for me finding support in my weight loss journey!

I’ve struggled with my weight pretty much all my life. Currently I’m 30 years old, and 204 lb. I’ve never liked exercise, and I know for sure my diet could use improving. I got married in 2018 and at that time was down to 173 lb - I had to get my wedding dress altered twice so that it would still fit me, because I was doing so well with my weight loss. But now here we are in 2020, and I’m up at least 30 lb. Which I’m sure is something lots of people unfortunately experience.

Anyway, I’ve recently started a new fitness program that I’ve stuck with for four days! I know that’s not long, but it is for me, and I’m determined to last at least two weeks. I’m finding I’m actually pretty okay with motivation to keep up the exercising, even though it is exhausting. But it seems like I have absolutely no willpower when it comes to food. I know I need to eat healthier if I want to get more fit and lose weight. But I always fall into the same habits.

Looking forward to joining the community

Hi Jessica and welcome to the forum. I agree that food is the main determining factor of weight but like you I'm struggling with it right now. What I do know is that only long-term changes lead to long-term weightloss so try to choose ones that don't feel punishing to you.

Welcome to the forum.

I actually find it easier to eat healthily if I have done some form of exercise. I wear a pedometer all day long every day so I can gauge how active I am being. That in itself encourages me to walk a bit more or do some exercise like zumba.

As for the eating - it certainly is easier if there is not the "go to food" in the house... If we do not buy the chocolate or crisps we don't eat them... Sometimes it is a question of thinking that maybe blueberries and 0% Greek yoghurt would make a nice treat instead of chocolate cake. Sugar free jelly can make a nice treat too. Its a struggle at times - but planning often makes the big difference. With planning and motivation you are there...

You clearly know what to do as you successfully lost weight a couple of years ago.
