I'm a professed cookie addict myself. I went cold turkey. I havent had a cookie in at least 2 weeks. Good thing there is only fruit in my house right now or else I would be eating a cookie right now. In the words of Dora's Backpack "Yum Yum yum yum yum...Delicisioso!
you should look into trying some low-fat and low calorie cookies! Then at least you can reward yourself every now and then and quench your cravings without going overboard...
My favorite is the "no pudge" brownie mixes... YUM! but there are others out there too... you can also look into snackwells and other brands that offer low calorie options.
Hey - just because you're on a diet doesn't mean things can't be yummy!!!
Hey, thanks everybody for saying 'hey'. I was horrible today and ate many bad things.
Amomono, I used to eat the snackwells, but I'm now vegan, and I can't eat them. : (
Oh, so weak...........
I am also a cookie addict. Luckily, my boyfriend yells at me when I eat too much of anything and everything and also when I eat cookies for Breakfast. You see, we live together and he has a body fat percentage of 7% and come from a line of high metabolism genes. I on the other hand did not! I was once skinny and although I am not obese, I feel as though my love for food has definitely showed over the years. Just be strong! I recommend that you read the suggested serving size on the bag and allow yourself only that much every other day and then eventually only allowing yourself that much once a week! Also, hide the bag where you would have to make an effort to get it! That definitely worked for me since I am a visual eater. My eyes get hungry before my chubby tummy does!
There is such a thing as sugar addiction, I have been told. The good thing is that it can be broken fairly quickly, in a matter of days. If you are able to stay away from sugar for a few days or a week, the craving for it should diminish. In my case, the sweet things I once liked so much seem almost too sweet to eat now.
I really like the idea of getting rid of the craving for sweets. I quit smoking much easier, all those years ago.
I'm gonna stop buying icing sugar so I can stop making icing when I 'need' sweet.
