Hi Guys! Looking for some basic advice

Hi Guys,

I am 28 years old. about 90kg and 6"0. I am not completely fat (although I do have a bit of a belly now from all the beers!)

I guess my problem is I want to get FIT. I have started the new year by giving up alcohol and fast food. I try to have some fruit for breakfast and maybe a salad wrap for lunch (also cutting out meat, mostly).

I was wondering if anyone could offer some cardio techniques for me. Problem is, I want to start running, but i am so unfit. I get to the bottom of the road and I am out of breath. I am frequently without energy and I can just feel I am not as happy with myself as I could be.

What I ask is what would be a good first weeks intro to running/ cardio (for someone who is as rubbish at it as i am) and how can I improve on this. How far should I run etc?

Thank you very much for your time guys. I hope with your help I can get on the road to fitness again :)

I would suggest reading through the sticky threads on the Weight Loss Through Exercise forum. Here is one on aerobic training.

yoga is fine for stretching, not for cardio. Listen the Harold's advice about the other thread. I would also look into your diet for there might be small changes you can make to eat better. Write down all your meals for a week, don't skip anything. At the end of the week, look at what you ate and see if you can't do better the next week (fast food is often the top problem)
