Hi Folks!

Hello! My name is Danielle. I am a 21 year old college student from New Orleans, Louisiana. I've had a really serious procrastination problem in the past few years as far as my weight-control is concerned. I've always used the excuse "I need someone's help" along with every other excuse in the book. I've recently been through a lot with the Hurricane and I'm trying to get my life back together - I'd like to start off right. In the past 4 years I've gained more than 50 lbs and I find it sickening...I currently weigh 190, however about a year ago, I weighed as much as 210. It's slowly going down but I really want to work hard at not only losing weight, but becoming much more physically active than I am and have been. My weight goal is 140 lbs and being 5'4", I think this is 'do-able'.

I joined this group because it seems like a place where I can find out more information on healthy weight loss and promoting a healthy lifestyle. I became a vegetarian 3 months ago and I've had so much more energy since then...

Anyway - to make a really long story short, I'm sick of waiting around for the weight to come off - I need to be proactive about it and I aim to reach my goal. I'm hoping to find a weight loss buddy or two....or maybe even just have the medium to vent my frustrations...I look forward to chatting, learning, and shedding unwanted pounds with you!

The hardest step is the one you've already taken, congratulations. Read around the forums for useful information or if you have a question just ask :)
