Hi everyone :)

My name is Gizem, from Istanbul, Turkey. I'm 26. I'm new to this forum and happy to be here :) I have been trying to lose weight for many years. I really struggle hard to lose weight, I go to the gym, I go for a walk and I succeed each time. I give 10-15 kilos each time but after the diet period I gain all of them again. I'm very tired of this repeating process but I can't help myself eating sweets. Tomorrow I start this process for the last time hoping to keep my weight balanced for the rest of my life. Now I weigh 73 kilos, I will write what I've achieved at the end of each 6 days. Hope that I can have your support to keep me motivated. I am ready to give you mine.

Wish you all the health,

Gizem :)

Hello, Gizem -- and WELCOME!!!

I was so moved by your weight loss story of going up and down in pounds. You sound like you try so hard and put your heart and soul into it each time. I have been struggling too, but I believe that support from other members can give us the confidence we need. Losing weight is not easy. It is more than pounds. So much more. I am glad to have read your post and am looking forward to getting to know you! It'll be FUN!!!

Your friend in weight loss, Gillian

Hi I'm new here too and had the same probs- lose weight gain weight. The only way to sustain it is to make lifestyle changes. If u love sweets DONT cut them out altogether just find a way to have them in your diet (obviously not 1000 Cals a time). That'll stop the overwhelming urge to binge on a sweet eating session too.

Hi Gillian,

It's great to meet you! As you said motivation and support are very important in this journey. Yes, I put my heart and soul each time and I get to the result -even though it takes a huge amount of effort- but I can not make it last forever and I gain all the kilos I lose. This time I hope that with friends like you it will be a much easier process -and hopefully the last one. Support is everything. I'm also looking forward to getting to know you! Is this your first weight loss trial?

Hi Emma,

Thank you for your advice. It makes great sense because up to now I have tried to cut out sweets as soon as I start my diet, and obviously I end up craving for them and eating a lot at once. So I will try to have just a little of sweets just to fool my appetite. You said you have the same problems. Did you manage to make any life style changes? Maybe I can follow your examples.

Hello everybody,

Nice to meet you all! I have the same problem. My suggestion is don't cut off thing you like eating. I am trying to lose weight as well, and I have been biking more than I used to these past days, but I still eat things I like. I don't have a specific schedule to lose weight now, but I'm going to start to go to the gym soon, and I will do both exercises to lose weight and to gain muscles.

Hello, Gizem and nice to meet you!
I too will be 26 year after some months) That is a good time to take yourself and freshen up)
Good luck and remember that oul health in our hands! :)

Hi Gizem, the first thing to do is keep a food diary for 7 days so you have weekdays AND weekends. Then look at how many calories you are actually eating per day. The 7 day diary will show you peaks so u can work out your 'danger' time. Once you know how many calories u r over eating by you can make healthy changes but the first job is looking at your eating pattern over a 7 day period. If your 'sweet danger' time is a Friday night then eat as low calorie as u can all day Friday (but don't let yourself get hungry) then incorporate your favourite sweets (with control) for fri night. It's important not to get hungry during the day as you will find yourself climbing into the fridge by 6pm!! I've a whole list of low cal snacks to keep u from getting hungry. Sometimes I eat every 2 hrs through the day until dinner but never go over my calorie limit.

Hello Lorenzo, Oleg, Emma and Libby :)

I had the worst week (personal issues), and I could not do any sports, and failed in starting my diet (yes, unfortunately once more, and this should not be an excuse I know:( ). I feel a lot better now and tomorrow no matter what happens I will stick to my healthy plan. When I feel sad, I eat carelessly. This is a very bad habit for me, but I can't help myself. I will write here everyday; maybe this forum can be a control mechanism for me. Thank you for your best wishes! Likewise to you! I will write what I eat, I will drink 2 cups of green tea everyday, and freshen up! No more excuses from now on.

Much love,

Gizem :)
