Hello everyone! I'm Amy. I'm 35 yrs of age, and I have three kids...in the next three months they are turning 10, 11, and 15 years of age. I work full time as a data analyst and part time in a music theater. I've always been a bit overweight (come from a long line of short, thick, stocky Italian women), but it wasn't until I herniated a disc in my lower back and then a year after stopped smoking after 17 years of smoking. That's when I really put on the weight...about 70 more pounds. I'm not at a whopping 245 lbs for my 5'1" frame. I've been taking blood pressure meds now for about 10 years and my cholesterol is now high and I am borderline diabetic. I'm to the point where it's hard for me to do anything because my back always hurts or I always have some kind of ailment. I've lost weight previously through Weight Watchers, but failed to keep it off. I'm starting back with WW as of next week, and this time I want to do this for good. I can't go on like I am or I'll end up dead and leaving my kids alone without any parents.

Anyway, wish me luck!

Hi fellow Pennsylvanian !!

I can so relate to the weight gains from quitting those cigarettes :(

Since you've been here for a bit, no need for me to tell you how much support and inspiration is floating through this wonderful site :)

I'm ready to start reading your diary *hint hint* *cough cough* *hint hint* ;)

I haven't seen a thing on your illness list that a good 'ol lifestyle change can't cure  I do highly suggest you get that pre-diabetes condition nipped the bud asap !! at least you won't have to go through the diabetes education in a hospital bed if you eliminate it right now !!

Good luck on your quest in fighting the good fight :)

Hi Amy! Good luck! I just joined WW this week; there is a thread in the Weight Loss Programs forum you should join:)
