Ok, so COVID is killing my health, and I mean from constantly staying indoors and being inactive. I've always been in great shape but since Covid, I've lost the motivation to exercise and eat right. As a result, I've gained weight, my body is looking like I've never seen it before, and yet I can't seem to get back to eating healthy. My exercising is inconsistent, but eating is consistently bad. I want to start though eating healthy again, so I was looking into Keto, but it's still really confusing because everything looks unhealthy yet people are losing weight.

Anyway, I decided I would give it a shot anyway and learn about it and how I can start by educating myself. I'm reading a short book and was wondering if the information on it is legit. Can anyone tell me if this is helpful for losing weight? I'll attach it to the post.

Hi Tiffany and welcome to the forum! Pretty much every weightloss method will work if you're able to stick with it long-term. I wouldn't be able to do keto but Trusylver has been doing it succesfully for years. Best check out her posts for more information but as far as I can see the main factors in keeping keto healthy are
- eat plenty of (green) veg and try to fit some fruit into your personal carb allowance as well
- stick with relatively unprocessed protein sources
- don't try to keto-fy all your sweets. Yes you can make sweet puddings, cakes, and what-have-yous if you use enough sweetener and other additives but they're not actually going to be healthier than their carby counterparts so best have them only as occasional treats.
