Hi Everyone - I Need to Start Moving!

Hi everyone my name's Perry. I'm currently 186, give or take a few pounds. I'm five-foot 7 3/4 inches tall. Totally need to start getting back to shape! I need to trim the abs, the stomach, the thighs ---- everything has got to go! I wasn't this bad in shape a few years ago,but I took some meds for my depression over a period of time (still on it), and it upped my weight level significantly. I think I need to find a excercising routine that I can stick with, because I simply hate to excercise (which is totally bad for health).

One unique thing! I'm actually talking to you guys here in Chengdu, China (on vacation), so all the foods I eat are Chinese [maybe good thing or bad thing?]. I'll be back in the US in about a month and a half, but I want to start now and get some weight loss before my freshman college classes start! I joined this website, because I think I need some group support. I was watching something on Chinese television of these changed people who lost significant weight, and boy do I envy them....

After reading a health pamplet a few months ago about diabetes and overweightness, I felt I will goto the dead-end if I don't start changing my living/excercising habits... I have lot's of determination to achieve my goal of trimming those pounds!

You've made the first step in joining....congrats on the decision.
Hopefully the chinese kitchen in China is not the same as here...too much fried foods, although you can find different stuff if you look for it. If you hate exercise, once back home, try to participate in some team sports. I always found it easier to get myself to do something when I had team mates or friends I could do it with. Maybe you can already find someone where you are now, to start some moderate exercise....walking, jogging etc.

Ok I went to a health doctor today, and she said I needed to trim the pounds because of possible heart problems... She especially noted that if I keep on having a hunky chest area, that it'll put pressure on my heart, creating possible heart problems. She also suggested I take two caps of fish oil to help maintain a good cholesterol level, as well as plenty of excercise and wise food choices. What'd you think guys of what she said - especially about the fish oil and the hunky chest?
 
I don't know about the hunky chest, but I take a fish oil supplement each day and my doc said it was good to do so and I should keep it up.
